Couples Counselling
When people are experiencing relationship issues, couples counselling can be of great benefit. I have trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. This approach can help a couple to reconnect and gain a greater understanding of each other’s needs by:
- Listening with an
- Open heart and mind.
- Validating and acknowledging each other.
- Expressing our thoughts and feelings softly, simply and slowly.
Couples counselling focuses on helping individuals to identify their feelings and needs and then expressing them to their partner in a safe and loving way. Understanding and expressing each other’s emotional needs is vital for healthy relating (Kallos-Lilly and Fitzgerald, 2015).
