Individual Counselling
I use an integrative approach to counselling which includes:
- cognitive behaviour therapy
- person centred therapy
- solution focused therapy
- Gestalt art therapy
- sand play and symbol work
These therapies enable a client to explore their issues, transform emotions, and find solutions that best suit them.
Trust, confidentiality and respect are the fundamental ingredients to the counselling relationship.
Relationship Counselling
Emotionally Focused Couples therapy enables a couple to identify their patterns of interaction and understand how these are impacting on their emotional well being as individuals and as a couple. By raising a couple’s awareness about negative cycles of interaction, new more appropriate behaviours can be practised.
This approach enables a couple to be vulnerable to each other: to express their emotional needs honestly without the need to be defensive.
Open communication can build trust and understanding.
